APPOINTMENTS
An appointment or notification service is available for customers requiring delivery notification or where a specific delivery time must be scheduled.
CHANGE IN BILL OF LADING TERMS
Where necessary, requests for alterations to the Bill of Lading or a change in payment terms may be provided upon presentation of a written letter of authorization.
C.O.D. CHARGES
C.O.D. service is available if the shipper requires Clark Freightways to pickup payment for goods or services in addition to the regular transportation charges.
CREDIT CHARGES
Charge: 2% per month (26.8% per annum)
Interest charges will be applied 30 days after the date of invoice.
DELIVERY/PICK-UP
The following Value-Added Services are available:
TAILGATE: When a shipping/receiving dock is not available for pick-up or delivery, and the size, shape or weight of a shipment, or any part thereof, requires the use of specialized equipment such as a tailgate or liftgate.
PRIVATE RESIDENCE/NON-COMMERCIAL:
When loading or unloading is required at non-commercial premises or at non-commercial routes or areas such as private residences or rural addresses.
RE-DELIVERY: When delivery is not accomplished at first attempt, and a re-delivery is required.
SPECIAL PICK-UP/DELIVERY SERVICE:
When loading or unloading is required at non-traditional sites such as construction sites, schools, tradeshow exhibits, or shopping malls, etc., an additional charge will apply.
ADDITIONAL LABOUR/EXTRA MAN:
For shipper or consignee convenience, extra manpower can be provided during loading or unloading when requested.
RE-STACKING OR SHIPMENT SORTATION:
Shipments requiring re-stacking or sortation during pick-up or delivery
as required by either the shipper or consignee, or when skidded shipments are required
to be broken down in order to complete delivery, will be assessed an additional
handling charge.

DELAYS/DETENTION/WAITING TIME
When equipment and manpower is delayed for shipper or consignee convenience beyond
the free time allowance, a fee per hour is levied to cover vehicle, trailer and
driver cost.
DENSITY (OR CUBE RULE)
Shipments are subject to a minimum density of 10 lbs per cubic foot. Shipments
utilizing over 10 lineal feet are charged at 1,000 lbs per lineal foot of trailer
space used.
DANGEROUS GOODS SERVICE
The transportation of dangerous goods are subject to a dangerous goods handling
fee.
STORAGE CHARGES
Shipments stored for the convenience of either the shipper or consignee will be
assessed an additional handling fee. Storage charges will commence the day
following Clark Freightways service date and will be assessed against the debtor.
SUFFERANCE WAREHOUSE
In those instances where Canada Customs requires that a shipment be transported
to, or be handled at a Sufferance Warehouse, the applied charges will be assessed
to the payor of the freight charges.
TRAILER RENTAL/DEMURRAGE
Dry or temperature controlled trailers may be rented by the day, or be spotted in
advance for shipper or consignee convenience. A trailer rental fee will be
assessed based on the type of equipment required.
VALUATION COVERAGE
A shipper may request excess valuation coverage over $2.00 per lb by simply recording
the declared value in the provided space on the Bill of Lading. An excess
valuation charge equivalent to 2% of the valuation in excess of $2.00 per pound
is assessed.
(Note: In instances of extraordinary value, the company reserves the right
to require either special packaging, additional charges or decline to accept liability).
WEEKEND OR HOLIDAY SERVICE
For shipper and consignee convenience, Clark Freightways can provide pick-ups and
or deliveries in the Greater Vancouver area on weekends or holidays. A convenience
charge will be applied in addition to the freight and applicable beyond charges.
